ACT Street Angels was proudly launched in Accrington in October 2023, becoming part of a national movement that began in Halifax in 2005. Today, this national initiative has expanded to over 100 towns and cities across the UK and internationally. In addition to its core mission, Street Angels has diversified its efforts to include work at festivals, within clubs and pubs, and throughout local communities, offering chaplaincy and more.

 

The aims and objectives of ACT Street Angels are clear: we strive to provide a safe haven for individuals who may be vulnerable, offering them a place to get a hot drink, call a taxi, or receive any assistance they need. Our dedicated teams actively patrol the town centre to support those in need, ensuring our community is a safe place for everyone. We rely heavily on the commitment of our passionate volunteers. We are currently seeking individuals who wish to make a difference by joining Street Angels in Accrington. If you care about others and can spare just an evening a month, we invite you to consider becoming a part of our mission. Together, we can create a positive impact in our community!  ACT Street Angels is dedicated to supporting the community in Accrington, including the homeless by providing essential services and resources. Through regular outreach programs, we offer food, clothing, and hygiene supplies to those in need. Additionally, the organisation fosters a sense of community by connecting individuals with local services and support networks, helping them on their journey toward stability and independence. Our compassionate approach not only addresses immediate needs but also empowers individuals to rebuild their lives.
